🐾 Steps to Fostering with Cross Your Paws Rescue

1. Apply to Foster
   Start by filling out our foster application. Once you’re approved, you’ll be officially part of our Cross Your Paws Foster Family!
2. Pick a Dog to Save
   Take a look at the dogs in need of foster homes and choose the one that speaks to your heart. Be prepared—fostering is so rewarding that you’ll want to do it again and again!
3. Meet the Transport Van
   When the transport arrives with the dogs we’ve rescued, you’ll meet us at our location:
   294 Donohoe Rd, Greensburg, PA.
   This is where you’ll pick up your foster dog and get everything you need—crate, food, bowls, toys, leash, collar, and more. We supply it all—you just provide the love!
4. Take Your Dog Home & Let Them Decompress
   Remember, your new foster may have had a long, stressful journey. Give them a few days to settle in before introducing them to other pets or family members. Quiet time and patience are key during this stage.
5. Get to Know Your Foster
   As your foster starts to open up, send us updated photos and a short bio. This helps us find them the perfect forever home.
6. Meet Potential Adopters
   When we have an approved adoption application, we’ll connect you with the adopter. Together, you’ll set up a meet-and-greet at a time that works for both of you.
7. Adoption Day!
   If it’s a perfect match, your foster will head off to their forever home. Give big hugs, maybe shed a few happy tears, and know that you changed a life.
8. Get Ready for the Next One
   Saying goodbye is always bittersweet, but it truly gets easier. The joy of seeing your foster happy and loved makes every moment worth it—and soon, you’ll be ready to save another!
